Teacher / Kaiako Position - OPEYS Kindergarten

OPEYS All Day Kindergarten is a community-based service seeking a motivated new graduate kaiako to join our team. We support up to 60 tamariki each day, aged from infancy to school age, operating between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm. At OPEYS, we uphold three core values: Whakawhanaungatanga, Te Taiao, and Tātaritanga.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has developing knowledge of tikanga Māori and te reo Māori
• Has an open-to-learning mindset and is reflective in their practice
• Communicates well and works effectively within a large teaching team
• Is flexible and responsive to the flow of the day
• Thinks creatively and is solution-focused
• Has a strong foundation in Te Whāriki
• An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi within Early Childhood Education
• Is passionate about supporting tamariki  progression of growth and learner identity

You will:

• Work with tamariki across all age groups
• Build strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues
• Contribute to a collaborative, reflective teaching culture.

You will be part of a supportive and collaborative teaching team, working in a well-resourced environment where meaningful relationships with tamariki and whānau are at the heart of practice.
