Welcome to Gwen Rogers Mount Maunganui Kindergarten.

Situated in the central Mount area, adjacent to Omanu Primary School our kindergarten has been part of the Mount Maunganui education sector and community for over 45 years.

At Gwen Rogers Kindergarten we believe that having strong collaborative relationships with children and family is fundamental to learning- whanaungatanga. We provide a welcoming atmosphere that is positive, respectful, inclusive, emotionally nurturing and fun.

We believe children learn best through direct experiences that are initiated by the child within their play, incorporating challenges and cooperative ventures; and that children learn at their own pace in a holistic way. We provide a rich and stimulating environment that provides for open ended exploration.

We value teaching children about the environment and aim to foster a generation of people who instinctively think and act sustainably.  In 2014 we received the Enviro Schools Green Gold award in collaboration with Omanu School.

Hours

Our hours are 8:30 - 12:30pm, or 8:30 - 2:30pm Monday to Friday. Holiday programmes available following Term's 1, 2 & 3.

How much will it cost?

We offer up to 30 free hours* per week, and accept voluntary donations to help us to continue the great work we do!  We are a donation-based kindergarten, click here to find out more about the average donations we receive.
