Special General Meetings
Kia ora koutou parents and whānau,
As you will be aware, on Wednesday, 1 May 2024 at 6pm we held the second Special General Meeting to vote on whether to merge with Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens.
THE OUTCOME. While the first meeting’s vote (26 March) was a majority ‘Yes’, the second vote (1 May) was opposed with a majority voting ‘No’. The voting stage of the process has now been completed.
What’s next? From here we’ll take a pause together with Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens. A pause to listen and unpack our collective thoughts around the merger journey. Our Board and Senior Team are gaining a deeper understanding of what’s ‘top of mind’ and on the hearts of our staff and wider Inspired whānau. This feedback will play a key role in informing the way forward for Inspired Kindergartens and Whānau Manaaki.

We’d like to thank everyone who has participated in the deeply valuable process. As always, our purpose is guided by the good of children and whānau.
As a not-for-profit and Incorporated Society key decisions, like a merger, are chiefly decided by parent representative votes. Thank you for your support during an important consideration of the future of Tauranga Free Kindergarten Association - Inspired Kindergartens.
