Cat

My name is Cat, and I am an educator with over eight years of experience and extensive knowledge of young children's growth, learning, and development.

I am fully qualified and registered. I have a post-graduate diploma in ECE teaching and also an additional degree a Bachelor of Science majoring in Environmental Studies and Community Engagement.

My home-based environment is spacious, safe, relaxed, respectful, and fun! It is a place where your child can be themselves and explore freely. Your child’s learning journey will be personalized and tailored to the aspirations and values of your whānau. Over the sessions, children will engage with a wide variety of resources and activities, including arts and crafts, cooking, gardening, dress-ups, storytelling, music and movement, local Māori waiata and stories, games, multicultural learning, building, active play, composting & worm farming, meditation & mindfulness, daily sensory experiences like mud/water/playdough, and much more! We also love going on adventures, whether it’s to the awesome playground less than 100m away or getting amongst nature in the stunning nearby bush reserve.

I'm passionate about guiding young children and their families through the essential early years. I teach children vital social and emotional skills, such as how to manage our emotions, resolve conflicts, and problem-solve. I skillfully help tamariki build independence, confidence, and resilience. Through my program, children are empowered with a love of learning and a strong identity, proud of who they are, their uniqueness and strengths. My ultimate goal is to teach tamariki knowledge, skills and attitudes that will not only serve them throughout their education but throughout their lives too.
