Welcome to our Kati KaiWay
Kati KaiWay is a community project started by Katikati Kindergarten in 2012, who saw a need for access to free food in the surrounding neighbourhoods and community.
From the beginning, the Kati KaiWay has been supported by Katikati’s community, with dedicated assistance from the Katikati Lions Club and the Bay of Plenty Tree Crops Association (Tree Crops).
Tree Crops has led and managed the maintenance and weeding of the Kati KaiWay alongside Katikati community and Katikati Kindergarten. In consultation with the Western Bay of Plenty District Council, it was decided that Gifillian Reserve would be a suitable area for the project.
The Kati KaiWay consists of almond trees, walnut, plums, nashi pear, persimmon, citrus and guava. Come, play, rest, eat and enjoy!
